Went to Botak Jones again yesterday. Someone wanted to give us a treat. So we just happily went. This time round, I didn't order the Botak Burger but ordered something called the Giant Chicken Hot Dawg (Dog) set meal. Cost about S$7 I think. Comes with fries, bread, coleslaw, tons of onions, tomatoes, lettuce and of cos the HOT DOG.

The amount of onions was so much that I think I ate half to 3/4 of an onion. And I found out something. Onions and coke don't go too well together. Eat some onions and drink a sip of coke, it will sting your tongue. Not painful but one kind of stinging feeling but its addictive..haha
I'm going to try something different next time.....

Attack of the road show sales people
I think road shows are something that are unique in Singapore. Yes, they do bring in customers for the companies that are involved, but I think they irritate and pester shoppers like some leech. My experience? 3 times this evening at Suntec City. Gosh! They're like pests!!!
First attack... Some bridal company (Wh*** L***). It was an "AUNTY" married with at least 3 kids and I won't be surprised if she's already a grandma. Came towards us with a smiley face, not even asking if we were married in the first place and started to ask if we were interested in their packages. Only when we say that we're married, then will she give us a "oh ok" face and said bless your life.
I suppose at least this is like one of the better ones...
Second attack... Some asthetic company (c**i s**). Some gimmick they have. Bring a basket of 3 gold ignots and started rambling about some draw and able to get free somethings. When they were done rambling, I picked one of the ignots and I got a free tummy slimming voucher. Was asked to fill out my details on this small piece of paper and was given a place to sit. But I didn't sit cos I knew that if i sat, it would take me at least 1 hour half an hour before I could leave that place. So I simply stood by the table and filled out part of the form.
The sales person came along and invited me to sit, which I gently declined and here goes the conversation: she: You sure you do not want to sit, I would need to explain this voucher to you. me: no thanks she: so you're staying around here? me: no. I stay in Sengkang (like who would be staying around Suntec???) she: oh then you could go to our outlet in ang mo kio.....blah blah blah.....(starts rambling on the things that are written on the voucher like as if I didn't know how to read vouchers) me: ok she: so do you go for any facials? me: YES (cos if i said no, they would start selling. I do go but not for packages) she: oh we actually have a few packages that you may want to look at (insistent eh, starts to touch some of her files on the table) me: I don't think I am interested (and I will never be). I've got to go. Once those four words are said, the look on her face starts to change!!! Woah! talk about face changers. She's one of the fastest I've seen so far...
In less than 50m away.... 3rd Attack... I believe is by some fitness company (Pl***t Fi****s). This guy comes up with a part hat with some mini yoyos and some smiley face balls in it...
He: Hi there. Are you Singaporean?(idiotic question #1) me: er...ya (like do I not look local?) He: So have you been to Carrefour before? (idiot question #2) me: er...ya (like which Singaporean haven't???) He: Actually I'm here ....blah blah blah blah... So will you want to pick something out of the hat and see if you win anything? (at this point of time, one short stouty looking girl in some pink dress trying to act kawaii "attacked" my husband, lterally running after him after he rejected her the first time she approached him. I think they are from the same company) me: sorry no I'm not interested. He: (putting on a act cute face) Huh? really? If you don't pick something my boss will scold me...
Ya right. Good that he'll scold you. Can't be bothered with what happens to you man...
My point. I think they are such a disgrace to the Singaporean culture. Imagine if they approached foreigners with such EQ and social skills...Total leeches...THe thought of them makes me boil all over again...I shan't comment further...

For the past two days (Monday - Tuesday), Jon wasn't around at home. He's out in Myanmar and will be back tonight. So what have I been doing since the time he left?
Monday: Went to the airport at 12pm to send him off. Went back to the office around 2pm and started surfing the net and doing some work. Got off at around 6pm to meet my girlfriend who happens to be on leave at Parkway. Had a 2 hour steamboat dinner and then walked around. For desert, it was Watermelon Icecream.
Tuesday: Looking forward to this day cos will be going to AMK for some cheap Japanese food at Sumo House. I had a S$2.90 Katsudon Bento and shared a S$2 5pcs Shishamo plate with my friend.

We then moved on to checkout Pine Garden at AMK Ave 10 and to packet some cakes for breakfast today. A nostalgic moment when I saw those cakes that I bought. Here they are...
Rainbow, Chocolate Rice, Martini Lychee, Vietnamese Coffee, Black Forest, Peanut Total damage: S$11.10
Well, the man's coming back sometime in the evening and I'm looking forward to it. Its been quite an eventful two days..:) Nice to have some time alone...:)

YipPEe!! Finally I got my new fondue pot that comes with a small pack of chocolates and two fondue FORKS!!! Why am I so excited about the forks? The previous ones did come with forks but I didn't get to even see them or use them cos they were confiscated at Brisbane airport. BAH!!!! Never forget that incident. And I think because of that, I have a grudge against the airport. Maybe I should blame the terrorists!!! ahaha
So exciting. Got them at Tangs using a voucher that I got last year during my birthday. Vouchers are going to expire soon so better use them before they turn void. Original price was S$29.80. Armed with S$30 worth of vouchers, I was even ready to tip the cashiers S$0.20. End up, there was a discount and the total bill came up to S$26+. Would be dumb of me to donate S$3+ to Tangs so I decided to keep the remaining S$10 and pay the balance by cash. So now I got to think of a way to dispose of the S$10 voucher expiring in Apr 2007.
Back to my new pot. Its in a shape of a heart. Opened it up to use today for dessert...YUMMY!!!

Time for more fondue parties...:)
